In Memory of Ronald Wooddy

        Wooddy, Ronald Smith Was Inducted Into Softball Hall Of Fame Friday, April 09, 2004 Ronald Smith Wooddy, 57, of Chattanooga, died Thursday, April 8, 2004.

He was born in Mechanicsville, Va., the son of the Late Henry and Margaret Wooddy.

He earned recognition while serving in the United States Army, was a three-season collegiate athlete and was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame.

He has been a resident of Chattanooga for the past 23 years working with Holt, Rinehart and Winston, achieving top sales nationally for multiple years. He was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughter, Dyea; son, Tyler; brother, Richard; nephew, Scott; and will always be Kaylie's devoted Papa.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Valley View Chapel with Rev. Mickey Rainwater and Rev. Brian Burch officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Ron's hometown church, Mechanicsville United Methodist Church at 7356 Atlee Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23111.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
