Aimee, many thanks can't express all the hard work you have done on our web site & our booklet. You are a gem & we love you. Your 40th Reunion Committee

 Hi Yall! -- by: Merlyn Smith BrownSep. 24, 2006 - 11:47:55PM
Hi Everyone! This message board is great-- all familar names that take me right back to Lee-Davis High. I just can't believe it has been 40 years though. Hope to see everyone at the reunion. I now live in Seabrook, Tx and have a home on Galveston Bay so we watch the hurricane news very carefully. Since high school I graduated from Longwood and became the elementary teacher that I had always wanted to be. After marriage I taught in Blacksburg, Va while my husband finished his degree. Dave and I have been married for 35 years now and have raised 3 children. Wayland is 31, married and the father of our first grandchild and Chris is 28 and married and is the "rocket scientist" of our family since he works in mission control at Johnson Space Center. If any of you had any math or algebra classes with me, you will know that he DID not take after his mother-thank goodness. Julie, our daughter, is a kindergarten teacher in Ft. Worth and is engaged to be married this March. My other little baby is Ruby, my little Miniature Pinscher. Dave is into oil refining and is now working in Baku, Azerbaijan. I try to go there as much as I can and he comes home every 6 to 8 weeks for some time off. I have lived in a lot of places all over since my high school days but still am a Virginian in my heart. Love and a hug to all!

 very boring stuff -- by: Phil FrazierSep. 24, 2006 - 3:36:24PM
Well let me see if I can keep this from being too boring. I acually should have been in class of '65, hence my ranking as the bottom of class. Therefore most of you probably won't remember me anyhow. I was married Aug. 10, '67, and drafted into the U.S. Army Aug. 27, '67. Sent to Vietnam just in time for '68 Tet Offensive. Very interesting 15 months in my life. Returned home to my wife and son who was born after I got overseas, I did get to see him and my wife in Hawaii December of '68. My wife and I were married 28 years and had 4 chidren, Phil Jr. who has 5 girls, Eva Ramee has 2, a boy & girl. Brandi ( who was named after that song) has 2 girls, one Nicole is 2 weeks old. Rebecca my number 3 daughter ironically has my oldest grandchild Connar. Unfortunatly my wife passed away in '94, 42 years old. I am retired now and do a lot of travelling, and model ship building. I told you this was boreing although it did not seem so at the time.

Buck and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary the weekend before our reunion. We have 4 children, Andy (36), Amy Sue (33), Travis (32) and Jeremy (30). Amy Sue is the only one married and she and her husband, Todd have 4 childern, Jordan Abigail (9), Nathaniel Cole (8), Casandra Faye (5) and Drew Eli (3). God has blessed our lives tremendously over these past 40 years through both our children and grandchildren. After graduation, I worked in downtown Richmond for 3 1/2 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. When all of the children had started school, I began a 13 year career of driving a school bus and worked part-time as church secretary between bus runs. When I quite driving the bus, I went full-time as secretary for Black Creek Baptist Church where I will celebrate my 22nd anniversary the first of October. Buck retired in 1998 from Bell Atlantic with 33 years of service. He continues to stay active as a handyman and roofer. We haven't gone far from home over these years living in our current home since 1970. We live across the field from where I grew up and our grandchildren live just across the field from us. How cool is that? God has been good to us and we so appreciate the opportunities we have to serve Him. Looking forward to see everyone soon. Blessings!

David & I have been blessed to be married for 37 years. I am a retired secretary-office manager for a private firm. David is retired from Bell Atlantic & is now a supervisor for a fiber to the curb contracting company. We enjoy many outdoor activities together. We have had an awsome life & are very content. We hope to see many of our friends & classmates at the reunion.

 Our Class Reunion -- by: Pamela Furr PetersenSep. 5, 2006 - 5:26:56PM
Following LD graduation I went to East Carolina University and graduated with a BS in Education. I married my husband (Pete) during my first year of teaching and we had our son (Art). Due to my husbands career with the US Govt we transferred 5 times during the next 20 years. I worked in clerical/secretarial/office positions until returning to school in 1992. For several years I served as the Testing Administrator in the Education Department at the Federal Prison in Ray Brook, NY. In 1996 we retired to sunny South Carolina where we now have a permanent home. We continue to return to the northeast (specifically to Lake Champlain) during the summer months and completed our 5th season of work in a State Park in VT in 2006. Pete and I will celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary in 2007. Our son Art and granddaughter Alyssa live about 2 miles from us in Bluffton SC. In my spare time I enjoy quilting, gardening and reading. We are members of the Church of the Cross Episcopal Church and both volunteer at the churchs food bank once a week. We are avid boaters and spend time aboard our boat Silver Lining II whenever we can. Two little dogs, Lucy and Breezy round out our family.
