Combined, we have 113 children, 158 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

6 of us served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

41 of us spent a combined total of 154 years earning 9 Associates, 24 Bachelors, 10 Masters and 4 Doctorate degrees.

Our most-traveled? One of us has visited 48 U.S. States or Territories, and another has visited 48 foreign countries.

2 of us have birthdays this month, and 5 of us have birthdays in June.

Currently, 29 of us are retired.

In Memory of Robert "Bobby" Hamil

HAMIL, Robert H. "Bobby" Jr., 64, of Mechanicsville, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Robert Hamil Sr.; and a sister, Janis Bolling. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice Bryant Hamil; daughter, Jennifer Watson (Patrick); two grandsons; sister, Kathy Harlow; brother, David Hamil (Adrienne); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bobby dearly cherished his grandsons and had a great passion for antique cars and tractors as well as the Lee-Davis Class of 1970.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org/Donate or Bon Secours Hospice 8580 Magellan Pkwy., Bldg. 4, Richmond, Va. 23227. |

BOBBY WAS SUCH A NICE PERSON.I REMEMBER IN HIGH SCHOOL,HE ALWAYS HAD A KIND WORD FOR EVERYONE.I SAW HIM AROUND MECHANICSVILLE QUITE OFTEN.I WOULD SEE HIM AT THE REUNIONS AND WE WOULD TALK ABOUT THE OLD DAYS.HE WILL CERTAINLY BE MISSED.BONNIE MCKAY MCFARLAND |

I knew Bobby at LD but really got to know him while working on the 40th reunion. I will miss him at the 45th this fall. He was such an honest person and will be missed but remembered well. Amy Davis |

We of the class of 1970 will always remember Bobby and think of him fondly. His passing truly saddened us. However, we can also say that during his days on Earth, his living often gladdened us. Rest in peace. Respectfully submitted by David M. Roane on behalf of the class of 1970. |
