In Memory of Marvin "Phil" Cheek, Jr.

Then and Now

Class of 1971
Lee-Davis High School

Marvin Filmore Cheek, 52, of Midlothian, Va., died peacefully on August 24, 2005. Born July 3, 1953, he is survived by his wife, Kathryn "his little cup of tea"; son, Ryan "his buddy"; daughter, Kelly "Kelly-Belle"; and special friends, Tammy "Sweetie Pie" and Debby. He is also survived by his mother, Christine; sister, Debbie Nicholas; brothers, William and Randy Cheek; and mother-in-law, Edith Berger.

Marvin was a Hall of Fame recipient for outstanding sales achievement with Cutco Cutlery for 34 years. He was a hero and inspiration to family, friends and co-workers. He enjoyed fishing, masonry and gardening.

But Marvin loved his family most of all. He could always make you laugh, always lended a hand and always had a kind word for everyone. He will be greatly missed and forever remain in our hearts and memories. "We love you and may you rest in peace".

Family will receive friends and relatives from 2 to 3 p.m. August 28, and a memorial service will follow at Cremation and Burial Society, 1927 Westmoreland Street, Richmond, Va. 23230.

Phil was a kind and warm person to know. I first met Phil in elementary school and we were friends through high school. I have many pleasant memories of Phil and his gracious family. I am saddened at his passing but I know he is safe with God.
